Desmomelt? (TPU)

Thermoplastic polyurethane is a high-tech material with unique components that are very practical. Therefore, they combine the characteristics of both rubber and hard thermoplastics. The main advantages of this material are high abrasion resistance, excellent oil resistance, grease resistance and solvent resistance, as well as good weather resistance. At the same time, it has the unique high elasticity and low temperature softness of rubber products.

TPU can be processed by various processes, such as injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, calendering and other coating methods. The TPU provided by a research and development result of Covestro even applies to the laser sintering process in additive production.

Desmomelt? adhesive raw materials are solvent-free, carrier-free, linear heat-activated polyurethanes based on crystalline polyester polyols and aromatic diisocyanates with hydroxyl-terminated terminals. They can be used in pellet form for extrusion or direct coating.
