Torlon? PAI (polyamide-imide) combines the special properties of thermoset polyimide with the benefits of melt processing of thermoplastics. Wear-resistant grades have outstanding performance in both dry and lubricated environments. High-strength grades can maintain their toughness, high strength, and high stiffness even at temperatures up to 275 ° C (525 ° F), making PAI a high-performance thermoplastic in the industry. It also has extensive chemical resistance, including strong acids and organics. PAI exhibits higher compressive strength and impact resistance than most advanced engineering plastics. High creep resistance and very low coefficient of linear thermal expansion (CLTE) provide excellent dimensional stability.
